Entertaining the kids during the summer holidays can be challenging, not to mention costly, but the Brunswick in Scarborough has a solution for weary parents and bored children in the form of a pop-up Ping Pong Parlour.
Following the success of its previous installation, the facility will return to the centre from 6 July to 4 September 2022.
Funded by Table Tennis England, Ping Pong Parlours are ‘pop-up’ spaces filled with table tennis tables to provide a fun, accessible venue for passers-by to play ping pong for free as well as creating a buzz in shopping centres.
The pop-up Ping Pong Parlour, which will be located on the ground floor in unit 12, boasts three tables available for public use seven days a week, free of charge.
Bats and balls are also provided, so players can simply just turn up and play without the need to book in advance.
“It’s great to see the Ping Pong Parlour return to the Brunsiwck,” said Stephen Marriott, Centre Manager at the Brunswick.
He added:
“Now more than ever, parents and young people are looking for ways to entertain themselves without breaking the bank. When we hosted the Ping Pong Parlour back in February it created such a buzz around the centre so we are thrilled to be able to do our bit for the local community while simultaneously driving more footfall through the Brunswick.”
The Ping Pong Parlour will be open between 9.00am and 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and from 10.30am until 4.30pm on Sundays.
