Our Hong Kong office has recently launched a new food and beverage concept in the Far East.
Café Library adds to the Group’s hugely-successful Espuma chain of coffee houses and restaurants across Hong Kong and China, which it launched in 2014.
Situated within New Town Plaza, a shopping mall in the town centre of Sha Tin, Hong Kong, SGI’s latest venture celebrates the enjoyment of life by bringing together the arts, music, food and drink.
With plush pink interiors and boasting illustrations from up-and-coming Parisian artist Eugénie Palaric SmBl, Café Library is an Instagrammers dream, as well as being the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Speaking of the concept, Peter Ko, Finance Director in our Hong Kong office, said:
“Café Library is our fourth restaurant in Hong Kong and, while we wanted to grow the Esupma brand, we were also keen to provide a fresh, but complimentary, offering.
“From the food and drinks to the décor and ambience, Café Library is a reflection of how happiness comes from truly enjoying life; something we’ve all become extremely grateful for over the past 18 months.”
Café Library celebrated its official opening on 12 June 2021 following a successful soft launch with representatives of the local business community.
Peter added:
“Despite having over seven years’ experience in running multiple successful restaurants, opening a food and beverage outlet in the middle of a Pandemic could be seen as somewhat of a risky move. However, we’ve been open over a week now and the response so far has been absolutely phenomenal.”
Kevin McCabe, Chairman, commented:
“I’d like to say a massive thank you and well done to all our colleagues in the Hong Kong office who have put a tremendous amount of effort into ensuring that our latest venture is a resounding success. It’s testimony to the strong leadership, dedication and vision of the whole team that we’ve been able to bring a new food and beverage concept to market at the present time.”
